A Night to Forget
Gus Van Sant, the director of “Drugstore Cowboy,” “My Own Private Idaho,” and other films, was arrested early Thursday in Portland, Ore., for drunken driving, according to The Associated Press. The Portland police said that Mr. Van Sant, 54, who lives in Portland, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. while driving with the lights off, and that he had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, smelled of alcohol and failed sobriety tests.
