Campos is goddam dangerous when he’s been drinking

Why does Mr. Campos never caress her breasts anymore? Why does Mr. Campos never suck her nipples anymore? Mrs. Campos runs her thumb over the large soft nipple, stirring it to hardness, like a little berry.

LANDFILL

Tioga County landfill is where Hector, Jr., is found. Or his “remains”—battered and badly decomposed, his mouth filled with trash. He couldn’t have protested if he’d been alive, buried, as he was, in rubble and raw garbage. Overhead are shrieking birds; in the vast landfill, dump trucks and bulldozers and a search team from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department in protective uniforms. For three weeks, Hector’s disappearance was in all the newspapers and on TV. Most of his teeth are broken at the roots, but those which remain are sufficient to identify Hector Campos, Jr., of Southfield, Michigan. Nineteen years old, a freshman engineering student at Michigan State University at Grand Rapids, reported missing by his dormitory room-mates in the late afternoon of Monday, March 27th, but said to have last been seen around 2 A.M. Saturday, March 25th, in the parking lot behind the Phi Epsilon fraternity house, on Pitt Avenue. And now, in the early morning of April 17th, Mrs. Campos answers the phone on the first ring. These terrible weeks that her son has been missing, Mrs. Campos has answered the phone many times and made many calls, as her husband has made many calls, and now the call from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department they have been dreading. Mrs. Campos? Are you seated? Is your husband there?

phreaker culture of the late 80s / early 90s

Phreaky Boys: audio of phreaker exploits from 1990

BoingBoing reader Dave says,
http://oranchak.com/

When I was a dumb teenager, I spent a lot of time dabbling in the phreaker culture of the late 80s / early 90s. During that time, I made audio recordings of compromised voice mail box systems that were commandeered by phone hackers. The hackers would replace the original box greetings with more interesting content such as calling card / credit card numbers, underground BBS numbers, hacking tips, and other goodies.

These recordings languished on crappy, hissy old analog tapes until a few years ago when I decided to digitize them for posterity onto my home computer. There they languished still, until the other day when I decided to contact Jason Scott (of textfiles.com and bbsdocumentary.com fame) for his advice on how to get the files out for posterity. He very generously offered his support of hosting and cataloging the audio files here: Link.

He has begun adding interesting descriptions for the files in this directory: Link.

I've released the files in the interest of preserving a little bit of hacker culture history. I was motivated to do this because I have not yet had any luck finding any similar audio files out there.

President Bush Vows Attacks “Across the World”

Tenet went over top-secret intelligence pointing to an impending attack and ’sounded the loudest warning’ to the White House of a likely attack on the U.S. by Bin Laden. Woodward writes that Tenet and Black felt that Rice brushed off their concerns.

President Bush Vows Attacks “Across the World”
On Saturday, President Bush vowed to continue waging attacks across the world. His comment came during his weekly radio address.

  • President Bush: “The only way to protect our citizens at home is to go on the offense against the enemy across the world. When terrorists spend their days working to avoid capture, they are less able to plot, plan, and execute new attacks on our people. So we will remain on the offense until the terrorists are defeated and this fight is won.”

GOP Accused Of Covering Up Rep. Foley Scandal
The FBI has begun examining whether former Republican Congressman Mark Foley broke federal law by exchanging sexually explicit Internet messages with teenage boys who used to work as pages on Capitol Hill. The Florida Republican resigned on Friday after ABC News published transcripts of some of his online discussions. In one exchange with an underage boy, Foley expressed his desire to strip the teenager naked and grab his penis. The Internet messages date back to 2003. Democrats have accused the Republican leadership of trying to cover-up Foley’s indiscretions, which they had known about for months. Speaker of the House Denis Hastert initially claimed he just learned about Foley’s actions but Republican Congressman Thomas Reynolds later revealed that he had personally told Hastert months ago. Hastert allowed Mark Foley to remain the co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children up until Friday. Earlier this year President Bush signed legislation that Foley introduced to bolster penalties against sex offenders and increase efforts to target Internet predators. In an interview with NPR in 2002, Foley criticized adults who sexually take advantage of children.

  • Rep. Mark Foley: "I have no problem with adult pornography. People are entitled to read it, watch it, see it in their homes or in public accommodations. Where I have to draw the line is using children for the excitement of those more mature people who should know the difference and know better."

On Sunday former House Speaker Newt Gingrich defended how the matter has been handled. He said the Republicans would have been accused of gay bashing" if they had "overly aggressively reacted" to Foley’s inappropriate actions.

Rumsfeld Says He Won’t Resign
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Sunday he is not considering resigning. Questions about Rumsfeld’s future resurfaced this weekend after Bob Woodward revealed in his new book that former White House chief of staff Andrew Card twice sought to persuade President Bush to fire Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld spoke to reporters en route to Nicaragua for a meeting of defense ministers from Latin and Central America

Report: Rice Brushed Off Bin Laden Warnings in July 2001
Members of the 9/11 Commission have expressed alarm over a report in Bob Woodward’s new book over a previously unknown meeting two months before the Sept. 11 attacks between then National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice, former CIA Director George Tenet and his counter-terrorism head Cofer Black. According to the book, on July 10, 2001, Tenet went over top-secret intelligence pointing to an impending attack and ’sounded the loudest warning’ to the White House of a likely attack on the U.S. by Bin Laden. Woodward writes that Tenet and Black felt that Rice brushed off their concerns. The White House has disputed Woodward’s account of the meeting.

Romanian Stencil Graffiti Archive. "...RSA is an archive of stencils from the walls of various towns in Romania. The authors of www.2020.ro are not the authors of the stencils, we are only documenting it. We at 2020 are based in Bucharest so most of the pictures of the stencils in Bucharest are taken by us. We would love to be able to travel around the country to document street art but unfortunately we can't do it all the time. The way we manage to document so many towns is thanks to people who kindly support RSA and are constantly sending us images from their towns." Via El Burlador. Bravo!
