Female bonobo chimpanzees have sex with dozens of males to obscure the paternity of offspring and thus stop males from killing infants to get their mothers to stop breastfeeding and become fertile again.

they also all have sex with each other, males and males, females and females, females and males etc. etc. (i believe the only taboo is mothers and sons, not sure why) in order to diffuse any conflicts that may arise.
